In the morning, I worked on continuing to transcribe the first Fr. Doll oral history interview, which was about a set of photographs he took on assignment for a book of photography titled A Day in the Life of Ireland. A few names were hard to understand/spell, so I was able to do some research to ensure proper identification for the eventual digital records. (2 hours)
Later, I met with Dave to discuss strategic planning for the department, including some of the struggles and benefits of small institutions (2 hours). As we wrapped up, a donor came by from an alumni relations department to donate a gavel used by a women’s group in the 60s, (30 minutes), which led to a discussion between Dave and I about how to get necessary records from donors (30 minutes).
