Mayor's Office Project: Evaluation of British Library Institutional Systems
PLO #4: Evaluate systems and technologies relevant to a particular information context.

Competencies for Special Collections Professionals III.H.10: Demonstrates the value of special collections by providing accurate and meaningful assessment data for departmental or institutional reports; maintains statistics and regularly evaluates the impact of reference services, instruction, and programming as a means of improving services and learning outcomes.
In this assignment, completed for LIS 60040: Information Institutions and Professions, I evaluated the British Library as an institutional system, particularly in the way it was adapting to emerging national issues and trends as of February 2019, including Brexit, the policy of austerity, and the trend of visitors placing higher value on experiences. The report, presented as a document and a brief recorded presentation, concluded that the British Library is adapting very well to the issues and trends it is facing, continuing to serve a wide population and to see growing numbers of visitors.
