Internship at the Creighton University
Archives and Special Collections
This section outlines my experiences at Creighton University's Archives and Special Collections department for LIS 60692: Master's Internship in Information during Spring 2020. The internship was supervised on-site by University Archivist David Crawford and advised by Kent State Professor, Dr. Belinda Boon.
Internship Objectives
Objective 1:
To gain practical skills related to processing and cataloging archival materials.
Objective 2:
To gain hands-on experience using preservation techniques for heritage materials such as historical documents, manuscripts, rare books, photographs, etc.
Objective 3:
To implement collections management techniques for special collections materials.
Objective 4:
To further my knowledge regarding safe-handling and safe-storage techniques for heritage materials.
Objective 5:
To gain experience providing access to special collections materials, such as creating finding aids or online exhibits.
