First thing in the morning, I worked more on creating the augmented reality component of the St. John’s Church exhibition in Zappar’s online workspace. I determined that while the saint biographies for the chalice would work for that piece, extending the idea to one of the reliquaries (an ornamental holder of relics) featuring around 20 saints would be too much. (30 minutes).

Today is our meeting with my advisor Dr. Boon, so Dave and I spent some time preparing for the meeting, including trying to set up the software and booking a conference room, and continuing our discussion about goals and evidentiary pieces I have already been involved in that contribute to my objectives. (1.5 hours)

Finally, we had the meeting with Dr. Boon where, despite some technological issues, we discussed the projects I had been involved in and how to narrow my focus onto pieces that I could show in my portfolio, like a finding aid or an online exhibit. Overall, I was glad to hear that she was satisfied with my experiences so far. (1 hour)

Afterward, Dave and I wrapped up the meeting with some more planning about the rest of the internship, given Dr. Boon’s advice. We confirmed the humidification project would be good for me to be involved in, but also that we should return to the Ron Hansen papers project to see if I could create the finding aid that would be used for that collection (1 hour)
